This static site adds no analytics, advertising, contact forms, or tracking cookies. Its hosting infrastructure processes connection information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the site.

The home page reads a release file from this site and asks GitHub's public raw-file service for the matching Homebrew cask. GitHub receives ordinary request information, including your IP address, under its own privacy policy. These requests omit browser credentials.

Local profiles and conversations

The app stores account profiles, local session metadata, usage readings, and backups on your Mac. Saved profiles contain sensitive login state. The switcher does not send profiles or conversations to Synesthetic Systems. It has no app analytics or advertising SDK.

The desktop app itself keeps talking to its own service as usual. This policy describes Shannanigans, not how the desktop app handles your conversations.

Optional live usage checks

When you enable Live Usage, the app reads the chosen profile's encrypted desktop app cookies, verifies its account and organization, and sends them only to the service that issued them, to retrieve usage. These are full login cookies, not narrowly scoped usage tokens.

Decrypted credentials are kept in memory, not copied into a separate credential store or written to logs. The usage checker caches percentages, reset dates, and sanitized status locally. Turning Live Usage off stops these checks.

macOS may request access to the desktop app's Safe Storage item in your Keychain. Shannanigans explains this before an interactive prompt. Background checks do not prompt. Enter your Keychain password only in the macOS dialog. Read about the permission choices.

Retention and removal

The default retention is five session backups. Saved login profiles are not backups and are not pruned by that setting.

Removing the app or uninstalling its Homebrew cask intentionally leaves profile and session data in place. The desktop app's active storage can link into this data; deleting it without disentangling those links could break the desktop app or erase sessions. There is currently no automatic profile-data cleanup. See removal guidance before changing these folders.
